There’s something about rape that just isn’t funny anymore. It was pretty damn hilarious somewhere around May of 2005, but these days you just can’t get the same LOL’s by writing a good old rape joke like you could have in the good ol’ days.
Maybe it’s time for comedy writers to give it a rest and make room for more serious writers like me. The truth is, times are changing and the LOL’s that rape might or might not have given us in the past just don’t have the same effect as they once had.
I predict that when historians look back at the year 2012 they’ll all be thinking to themselves, “Where are all the good f***ing rape jokes?” That’s a good question. And I really don’t seem to have the answer. They’re just not funny anymore.
I mean seriously? What’s so funny about a woman getting knocked unconcious with a shovel and raped by a clown? I don’t see anything funny about that. Well…okay, it’s “kinda” funny, but it doesn’t make me laugh out loud and share the story with everyone on my Facebook. People would just get pissed off and post comments like, “Clown Rape isn’t funny anymore.”
It’s evident that a lot of Republicans think it’s pretty damn hilarious when they block women’s reproductive rights, and I agree with them totally. When women aren’t allowed to get abortions because of a bunch of jerkoffs in congress don’t want them to, I get a good chuckle. However, the laughter just ends when people like Todd Akin think that women can magically squeeze out their rape victims seed from their vaginas as if this is some kind of effective method of birth control. Not only are these women forced to relive the trama all day every day for 9 months, they also have to raise these Rape-Babies and drive them to school, teach them how to brush their teeth, potty-train them, etc. etc. etc…But do you really think these parents are going to save the money for their Rape-Babies to attend a decent college? Nah.
Where was I? Oh yeah, rape isn’t funny anymore. And if you think it’s funny, you’re a jackass. Seriously, stop laughing. It’s snot funny.
